The CubeRunner development team has applied years of Cognos PowerPlay
experience with extensive Windows and network architecture expertise
to develop the first commercially available application focused
solely on the unique build, deploy and activation requirements of
PowerCubes. The underlying technology speaks “PowerPlay-ease”
through published API’s and enables you to implement repeatable
best practices and reliably manage PowerCube delivery end-to-end.
Simple
Rather than coding scripts for batch jobs, you use CubeRunner to
automate batch job requirements and scheduling. You tell CubeRunner
which PowerCubes to build, the PowerCube model properties to use,
where the PowerCubes are to be deployed and when the delivery is
to occur. Within minutes, you’ve effortlessly constructed
an automated PowerCube delivery job!
Smart
CubeRunner has multiple layers of intelligence. For instance, prior
to Transformation processing, CubeRunner internally inspects each
PowerCube model for inconsistencies and corrects those inconsistencies
on-the-fly with your supplied requirements. These include Access
Manager credentials, data source paths (e.g. IQDs), database sign-ons
and PowerCube destination paths.
Furthermore, CubeRunner jobs automatically delete suspended PowerCube
models, manage all network security requirements in unattended mode,
employ self-healing features (e.g. recovery, retry and resume processing)
and back up each PowerCube per your specified retention policy.
Effective
CubeRunner’s feature set by far exceeds what can be accomplished
with scripts, macros and home-grown VB applications. CubeRunner’s
jobs are flexible, scalable and cost effective. History has shown
that over 80% of PowerCube delivery failures occur due to human
error and network conflicts. CubeRunner eliminates the causes of
those errors through its intelligence, simplicity and robustness.
