Greg King, founder of Icon Computing, discovered that his customers were consistently experiencing operational inefficiencies due to infrastructure complexities when delivering Cognos Powerplay PowerCubes and these inefficiencies diluted the value that customers received from their business intelligence investment.

Enter CubeRunner the product; Icon’s technical team began designing and developing CubeRunner in early 2002, the first commercially available Windows application product that harnesses the process of delivering PowerPlay PowerCubes. Icon’s technical team has applied years of network, operating systems, database and security expertise to its years of Cognos business intelligence expertise and CubeRunner, the product was born.
